Public Sector EBA & Cancer Crisis Update
We now have an offer on the table from the employers and the Department of Health. This is the third time that we have had an offer – so far it is still on the table.
We have no idea why the government is playing this game of making offers and then withdrawing – it could be as simple as saving money by stretching the negotiations out for as long as possible.
There are a number of matters contained in the offer which require further work. Negotiations took place yesterday in FWA with the assistance of Commissioner Gregory.
We have sent a list of matters which need to be resolved to the VHIA and the Department of Health, and there will be further discussions in FWA on Monday.
At this point we are close to reaching an agreement around wages and conditions of employment which we will be able to recommend to members, subject to the finalisation of the outstanding matters.
