Voting NO will send Melbourne Pathology management a very strong message!
The Medical Scientists Association of Victoria has spent months trying to negotiate with Melbourne Pathology management for a new Enterprise Agreement, based on our Log of Claims that we developed through members’ feedback, to address workloads, pay and conditions.
Melbourne Pathology has spent months telling us they could not afford modest pay increases, a fifth week of annual leave, or any measures to address workloads, among other claims. They’ve been frustratingly slow to progress negotiations with the Union.
Now, instead of negotiating with the Union in good faith, they’ve decided to make you vote on a very bad offer.
Melbourne Pathology’s offer does nothing to address your overwhelming workloads.
It doesn’t close the gap in pay and conditions – pay and conditions already enjoyed by your colleagues interstate and in the Victorian Public Sector. It’s more likely that your pay and conditions will continue to fall further behind.
These are major factors behind Melbourne Pathology’s poor retention of scientists and technicians.
Now we find out that the CEO of Sonic Healthcare, the parent company of Melbourne Pathology, Dr Colin Goldschmidt made the country’s Top 10 Highest Paid CEOs List.
Melbourne Pathology cries poor yet the CEO that runs it all, including Melbourne Pathology, is paid handsomely off the work of you and your overworked and undervalued colleagues.
It’s crucial to send management a message and vote NO to their offer.
Your No vote will send them a message that you won’t accept:
- The overwhelming workloads
- Not being valued for your work
- The gap in pay and conditions already enjoyed by your colleagues interstate and in the Victorian Public Health Sector
The Union strongly urges members to vote NO to send them a message to value you and your work!
