16 Days of Activism 2021
25 November marks the start of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, a global initiative designed to galvanise individuals, communities and organisations to address gender inequalities, gender-based violence and take action to prevent violence before it starts.
Stopping violence against women means believing survivors; adopting comprehensive and inclusive approaches that tackle the causes of violence; transform harmful social norms; and empowering women and girls. This includes the need to ensure we don’t forget about the gendered violence experienced by women in the workplace.
The 2021 global theme is “Orange the World: End violence against women now!”
The aim is to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.
We encourage members to share #16Days and #OrangeTheWorld hashtag posts during this time to encourage discussion, action and cultural change, and attend events in your area or online.
